Country star Craig Morgan re-enlisted in the Army Reserve at the age of 59

Craig Morgan is still serving his country. American musician Craig Morgan took the oath again on Saturday at the age of 59 in front of a sold-out audience at the Grand Ole Opry in the US Army Reserve.

In a statement, Craig Morgan said, “I am excited and happy to be serving my country again and hope to inspire others to be a part of something bigger than themselves.”

He added in the statement, “I love being an artist without a doubt but I consider it a true privilege and honor to work with the greatest of my colleagues. God Bless America. Go Army.

The musician previously served 17 years in the US Army and served 17 years as an E-6 Staff Sergeant and Fire Support Specialist in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions in the Army Reserve.

And among all his certification lanes Airborne, Air Assault and Rappel Master are among them. “Every Soldier who enters the American Army has the opportunity to become the best version of themselves. Staff Sergeant Craig Morgan is no exception. I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes and how he impacts other Soldiers around the Army.” This came out in a statement from one of the organizers of the event.

He would sing about his time in the American Army and Brahmin would continue. Morgan shared a throwback photo of himself in uniform on the day of the event, captioning it, “Once a soldier always a soldier I love our country.”

Morgan said last year that despite growing up in a musical family with his father and uncles, he never considered it more than a hobby.

“After my military career I thought maybe I could take this up as a career,” Morgan said.

He won awards for the songs he wrote and performed for his fellow soldiers while in the service.
